A few weeks ago Chris and I were invited to the dedication of President George W Bush’s library at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. The campus is absolutely beautiful and the entire event was so well done. We were also reunited with many of the members of the Peloton One, the biking group we are a part of. It was so much fun and the history at the library is a must see. I have included a few from the trip here.
Last week I had the pleasure of traveling down to Boston to photograph Kristin and Eric for their engagement session. We started at the Boston Public Gardens and finished at the Barking Crab on the water. They were such a blast to work with and I look forward to their Kennebunkport wedding in September! We had the pleasure of photographing Ilana’s Bat Mitzvah at the Wellesley Country Club a few weeks ago. It is so nice to have repeat clients as we had photographed her older sister’s celebration a few years ago. Hopple Popple did a fantastic with all the planning and execution of the Hunger Games event! The books that they made had the actual words from the books and the table designs were just amazing! The lighting in the room added to the atmosphere perfectly. Here are a few favs:
During the winter we do a lot of commercial photography shoots. They are fun and yet challenging at the same time. Last night Chris went to Quest Cycle in Portland to photograph a spin class for Maine Magazine. When he arrived the beautiful spin room was almost pitch black and had he not been prepared with external lighting gear I fear the shots would have not turned out as nicely as they did. It is a very diverse career we have chosen and a very fulfilling one at that! Here are just a few photos from last night:
Elizabeth and Chris chose the Villas at Aquamare for their intimate beach wedding. The 40 plus guests enjoyed the Villas, private beach and all that Virgin Gorda has to offer. The bride owns a line of clothing stores called Periwinkle so the attire of the guests was just perfect for a destination wedding! It was such a close celebration of friends and family… even Elizabeth’s Dad preformed the ceremony! CA Smith Photography was so honored to be chosen to document the week for the awesome fun couple! Elizabeth and Chris chose Saba Rock for their rehearsal dinner. Saba Rock is it’s own island with boat service to and from Gun Creek Harbour on Virgin Gorda. With such a large group we needed to take two trips to get out to the Island and back. Luckily both Chris and I are photographers and could each capture images as we traveled out to dinner. The children loved feeding the many large fish and the adults appreciated the amazing cocktails and dinner provided by Saba Rock. Towards the end of the evening a gentleman bellied up to the bar with his guitar and had all the guests singing the night away. Here are a few favs:
Day 2 on Virgin Gorda was spent hanging out at the Villa with friends and family. There was a gorgeous rainbow in the morning and the bride spent some time relaxing in the beach bed in the afternoon. Later the gang headed to Saba Rock for dinner and those photos will be up on the blog soon! Here are a few favs from the beach day

Chris and I were fortunate enough to have our friends Chris and Elizabeth plan a destination wedding in the British Virgin Islands and ask us to be their photographers. I will post each day separately as to not overwhelm you with too many images at once. The day of arrival in St Thomas guests were treated to a private ferry ride on a Speedy ferry to Virgin Gorda. The one hour ride was a bit rough and windy, but so much fun at the same time! Once we arrived on the island we were all taken to Villa Aquamare. There are three identical villas on the property with a private beach. Our room was beautiful and we took some images of it on day two so tune back in to see those! Here are a few favs from day one:
Alana and Diego chose Kennebunkport for their elopement in November at The White Barn Inn. Alana looked gorgeous in her custom made gown, and Blooms and Heirlooms did a beautiful job with the flowers. Here are a few of our favorites
