Biking in Crawford

Last weekend Chris and his buddy, Brandon from Cape Able Bike made a trip to Crawford to bike with their friends and President Bush. It was a relaxing trip and fun was had by all. I like the photo of the bikes loaded in the back of the van for the trip from Austin to Crawford and all the photos of the signs announcing that Crawford is Bush country.

Two cute boys

Today we photographed brothers Max and Grady. We also grabbed a few with Mom and Grandmom which was nice. It can be challenging to photograph a newborn and you need lots of patience. We usually block off 2 hours in the studio for our newborn sessions. Max and Grady’s Mom was one of our brides several years ago and now lives in the Boston area. We are so glad she decided to bring the boys in today for portraits.

Chase Hill Events new website

Chase Hill House has a new website and Chris and I took most of the images for it. Chase Hill House is owned by The White Barn Inn in Kennebunkport, New England’s only 5 star restaurant. I want to thank Melanie Bibbo of Blissful Beginnings  for designing the photo shoot and setting everything up on the day we did the shoot. Here is a screenshot of one of the new pages. If you are planning a wedding in the Kennebunk area, you should take a look at all of the White Barn’s properties(they have many).

Suzanna and Geoffrey’s wedding weekend

Here is the slideshow that I showed at the end of Suzanna and Geoffrey’s wedding weekend. There was a rehearsal dinner at Allison’s Restaurant, dinner at The Kennebunkport Inn, a sleigh ride at Rocking Horse Stables several breakfasts and a brunch. There was also a very fun sing-a-long with Flash Allen in the Inn’s Pub. It was so fun to hang out with this group from Texas and Michigan last weekend and to see the delight on the Texan’s faces when we woke up to 6 inches of snow Sunday morning.

The Make Up Shop in Portland

Recently we photographed Jen at the Make Up Shop in Portland in their new location. It is a beautiful shop and everyone who works there is friendly and very knowledgeable. Here are a few photos of the shop and Jen getting made up for her wedding.

Jen and Josh’s Holiday wedding

Jen and Josh had a Holiday ceremony and celebration 2 days after Christmas in Portland, Maine. We have been friends with the family for several years and had previously photographed both of Josh’s brother’s weddings so it was so fun to celebrate with them all! The ceremony took place at Woodford’s Corner Church and it was a familiar face officiating, Carolyn Lambert of Kennebunk is the minister there now. The reception was at Sable Oaks and the team at Blooms Florist did an outstanding job on the flowers and decor. I especially liked the tree they decorated in the entry way with crystals, very pretty. Chris and I send them lots of love

8 degrees and we are still shooting

This was taken Friday afternoon at the beach and the temp was 8 degrees! The brave subjects are Suzanna and Geoffrey who will be getting married here in the Port tomorrow at the Baptist Church. You can see Chris on the jetty in front of them and I can tell he was wishing he had his ski gloves on instead of his bike gloves. It is sure cold out, but with the love and warmth of Geoffrey and Suzanna it promises to be a great weekend!

travel

Chris and I are heading to Norfolk, Virginia to photograph the commissioning of the aircraft carrier, George H.W. Bush (CVN-77). Here is a photo of the craft in the water a few years ago, taken by Chris Oaxley. We are looking forward to seeing lots of friends and enjoying the waterfront area of Norfolk.

Blast from the past

I had meant to put this image on the blog in the summer when Paul Newman passed away, but I was too busy, so now here it is. He came into our shop, Ocean Exposure back in 1991 when I was just a young thing. He was so nice when he was dropping off his slides and his wife, Joanne Woodward came in to pick them up a few days later. It is so fun to look at old photos, I mean what is with that shirt I am wearing??
