Taryn and John

Taryn and John’s wedding at the Nonantum in October was a bit wet! It was a tropical storm and the rain came down in sheets all night. The ceremony, planned for outside by the river had to be moved in to the ballroom, it was quite lovely thanks to Judy of Flora Fauna. It felt very intimate during the ceremony and we were able to take some photos outside in the rain and also in the awesome Sperry Tent. Taryn and John have a great sense of humor and were just so happy to be getting married they did not let the rain bother them at all! The wedding party also had a sense of humor and none of the girls complained when we asked them to walk in the rain in their heels to the edge of the property. Tayrn was smart and pulled on her wellies. The cake was made by Let Them Eat Cake and was decorated by Judy and her apples. There were apples everywhere they even served candied apples for dessert! Chris and I were so happy to be able to capture the day for them and here are a few favs:

Dawn and Joe

Dawn and Joe got married on one of rare rainy Saturday’s in September. At times the rain came down in sheets and it paused at times to allow for some fun outside shots. The Sperry tent was perfect for the affair keeping out all the rain. Dawn has a large family so this was one of the largest wedding parties we have had and they were all well behaved! It was so fun because we are friends with Dawn’s sister and we knew a lot of the folks at the wedding which is rare for us. Dawn and her family did a lot of the work for the wedding themselves including all the flowers and table arrangements. I loved the Fuji camera that produced instant prints for the guests to sign, it was very stylish and fun. The band, Modern Manners was fantastic and kept everyone on the floor all night. Dawn and Joe are such a great couple and you could tell they are really in love which makes for a warm feeling all around. Here are a few favs:

Cassie and Jake’s Breakwater wedding

Cassie and Jake are from Texas and decided to have a destination wedding at the Breakwater in Kennebunkport in September. It was a really fun wedding with two cakes, the bride’s cake was inspired by the Lily Pulitzer dresses the gals wore and the groom’s cake was Texas inspired. The most unique thing I have seen in all my years of wedding photography was the bride’s dress was GREEN and it was beautiful. The Breakwater made for a great location and the Sperry tent was of course fantastic. Melissa from Fleurant did the flowers and arrangements and Let Them Eat Cake made the cakes. Lex and Joe provided the music that kept everyone on the dance floor all night. It was a great wedding and we were so happy to be there to capture all the details. Here are a few favs:

Washington Redskins Win

Sunday we were at at Redskins game at Fed Ex field and they won! It was a very exciting game indeed. We started with a pre-game field pass so we were able to see the players up close and personal, they were HUGE! Then we watched the game with Joy Zorn in her suite and had amazing views. After the game we were treated to a play by play from Coach Zorn himself. The best part was being able to share the experience with good friends who are also Chris’s biking buddies when in the DC area. It was a highlight of 2009 for sure. Here are a few photos:

Happy Halloween

This year for Halloween we set up a photo booth in our studio for our Halloween party. Everyone had a great time hitting the “easy”button and snapping their photo. We are working on a portable photo booth to offer at events next summer. So fun!halloween-blog.JPG

Surprise engagement on Goose Rocks Beach

When Matt contacted me about his idea to get photos of his proposal to his girlfriend I was thrilled. We concocted a plan and while Jess thought they were heading to Maine from New York City to visit friends, Matt had an entire plan worked out for them. They got out of the car and I received an “we r here” text from Matt, so Chris and I pretended to be smooching on the beach while secretly photographing the two of them. He had me put out a table on the beach with a special book on it for her. She was so surprised that she was speechless for the first 30 minutes. We then took some fun shots of them enjoying the beach before the sun set then it was off to their next part of the trip. Matt had rented one of the houses at Hidden Pond Resort. We went back with them to open some bubbly and then she learned about the rest of the secret weekend. It was such a wonderful proposal and I am sure they have a wonderful fun life together ahead of them. Here are just a few favs:

Jillian and Fowler at The Retreat at French’s Point

I love the Retreat at French’s Point in Stockton Springs, Maine. The owners Jess and Fred are super nice and really care about their clients. This was a fall wedding with perfect weather and a beautiful Sperry Tent. Judy from Flora Fauna did the decor and flowers and they were outstanding! I loved the couch she brought in for a sitting area and the antiques she set out were just great. The guest enjoyed lounging in this area all evening long. I have included a lot of the detail images here because I loved them. Jillian and Fowler had a great time and really enjoyed every minute of their wedding including the sparkler send off at the end. Here are some photos:
